Week 5
This week, we have been taking part in Children's Mental Health Week. We used the idea of acrostic poems to write our own wellbeing poems based around the theme of 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. We thought about the main ways that we have to make ourselves calm and happy, along with the different things that we would like to get better at in the future. We found that these were a really reflective way of thinking about ourselves and our inner-selves. We also carried out an activity about appreciation of others. Each member of the class wrote their name on a piece of paper and then this was shared around the room. Each person in the class then wrote down one positive aspect about that person. By the end of the lesson, there were 26 positive words about each member of our class. We found that this was an amazing experience and realised that, even those times when we feel a little sad, we can use these thoughts of others to help increase our own mental wellbeing.
