Autumn Term 1 - Week 6:

The children have had another busy week in Year 6.

In maths, the children learned the method of long division.  After being a little worried about this at the beginning of the week, all the children now are confident in using this method of calculation - some even saying how much they love it!

In English, the children published their final newspaper reports based on the novel, The 1000 Year Old Boy.  They used formal language throughout their pieces of writing and also included both direct and indirect speech.

For their fourth art lesson, the children have created sculptures based on the work of Alberto Giacometti.  They used aluminum foil sheets to cut up and sculpture their own figures based on The Walking Man, creating their own poses based on their individual hobbies.
